BitLanders Awards Bitcoin Prizes at NY 2015 Open Judo
BitLanders was again a proud sponsor of the 2015 New York Open Judo Team Championships hosted in New York this March 29th (2015) at the New York Athletic Club.
The event was attended by a strong crowd of over 1,000 spectators. Notable MMA individuals witnessed, such as legendary coach and fighter Renzo Gracie, WSOF champion David Branch, UFC bantamweight Aljamain Sterling and Eddie ‘Truck’ Gordon, UFC middleweight and winner of the Ultimate Fighter 19.
Female and Male World Champions and Olympians competed against each other. Ranging from the US, France and Germany, it was the first international sporting event involving Cuban athletes since the recent easing of restrictions from the US against Cuba.

The US Women’s team defeated both teams France and Cuba while the French team in the Men’s division won for the 3rd consecutive year.
BitLanders awarded the prize money in Bitcoin at the equivalent of $100 for every Ippon scored in the Women’s Team competition. An Ippon means knock-out, not literally a knock-out, but a Judo term referring to winning a round or match.
