Domain Registrar Gandi.net Will Start Accepting Bitcoin

Domain registrar and cloud hosting services provider Gandi.net, known for its “no bullshit” ideology and lack of advertising will now start offering bitcoin as a payment method for its customers.

In paying heed to their customers’ suggestions , chief among them a Bitcoin payment option, online services provider Gandi.net  will start accepting the cryptocurrency as a payment method.

The news came as a reveal when the company’s Twitter account let the news slip while responding to a customer:

The service is expected to go live between 24-48 hours.

The plans to open doors to users offering bitcoin as means of payment may have been in the works for a while, with the company previously encouraging users to bring attention to the cause.

With offices in Paris, Taipei, Bissen and San Francisco, Gandi.net provides multiple domains for users around the world and currently offers over 600 domain extensions.

The company currently manages over 1,700,000 domain names across 192 countries and is ranked the 6th biggest domain name registrar in Europe and ranks among the top 15 worldwide.

Gandi.net is also a known supporter of the EFF and open-source projects. The web services provider is also known for being pro-privacy, making the registrar popular among its users.

The company also provides SSL certificates along with domain name registration and cloud hosting services.
