Bush_Album_CoverIn December 2013, Snoop Dogg tweeted that his next album would be available for bitcoins. Now, one-year-and-a-half later, Snoop doesn’t have to team up with Coinbase or BitPay to make his album available for bitcoins. Instead, he’s just gotta do what he does best: make dope rhymes. The Bitcoin Community has got him covered.

Now that Snoop Dogg’s most recent album, Bush, produced by Pharrell, is available, it is indeed available for Bitcoin. Although the album is not available on Snoop Dogg’s official website for bitcoins, CryptoCoinsNews lists here some other ways to buy the album using the nascent digital currency.

This was the rapper’s reaction to mainstream media focusing on two distinct, novel technologies at once: Bitcoin and shipping by drone, as offered by Amazon.

Here’s how to buy it with Bitcoin:

Overstock

Overstock.com’s CEO, Patrick Byrne, has been one of the most vocal supporters of Bitcoin, and most recently was named to Rand Paul’s tech counsel for the 2016 election. At Overstock, one can buy Snoop’s new album at Overstock with bitcoins for $15.95 including shipping.

Purse.io

Purse.io allows individuals to get items on Amazon with bitcoins in a peer-to-peer marketplace format. Purse.io functions as an intermediary, offering users the platform, bitcoin wallet and escrow for bitcoin transactions. One enticing aspect of Purse.io is it saves purchasers 25% on Amazon.

After one signs up for Purse, they can put Snoop Dogg’s new album, Bush, on their wishlist, and place some bitcoins in escrow. Once they receive the album, they notify Purse.io and the bitcoins are delivered to the buyer of the Amazon goods, who benefits from the entire deal by receiving bitcoins at a slight markup.

“It’s kind of like an exchange, but with that Amazon layer,” explained Kent Liu, the co-founder of Purse.

Murfie

At Murfie, one can use bitcoins for Murfie credit, which can then be used to purchase anything on the Murfie website. Bush is available for $14.00 including shipping.

Murfie is the first music only marketplace and streaming service accepting the digital currency as payment for all of its offerings.

“Murfie’s primary goal is to provide our customers with seamless access to and ownership of their music collections in any format and on any device,” said Matt Younkle, co-founder and CEO of Murfie.

“Empowering people to purchase, download and stream music from the hundreds of thousands of albums available on www.murfie.com using their choice of payment method is another way for us to provide music enthusiasts with the best, most obtainable experience possible.”

Product Hunt

While one cannot purchase Bush for bitcoins at Product Hunt, the product aggregation site launched a marketing effort for Snoop’s new album, including an AMA.

Snoop spent a few hours chatting with fans about his would-be startup, as well as the best way to support artists – to share music and purchase it from online retailers.

Product Hunt generally features products within the tech space, but has featured products outside the tech industry, like Ship Your Enemies Glitter, and Drake’s most recent album.

Snoop has been a supporter of the site and posted products there before, as well.

Founder of Product Hunt, Ryan Hoover, told TechCrunch that there were 2600 click-throughs to the album on Google Play from Product Hunt within 5 hours after the AMA. Those albums, if purchased, would not have been done so with bitcoins.
