Latin American Bitcoin Conference To Feature 40 Speakers Dec. 4-5 In Mexico City

ong_btc_latA lineup of 40 expert speakers will highlight the third annual Latin American Bitcoin Conference (LaBitCOnf2015 ) Dec. 4 and 5 at EBC Campus Dinamarca in Mexico City. The conference is expected to host 250 attendees from 15 countries.

The conference goal is to jumpstart bitcoin innovation in Latin America and encourage entrepreneurs to create applications for bitcoin and block chain technology, according to Rodolfo Andragnes, conference organizer. He said the agenda will include topics for entrepreneurs developing applications and for finance sector professionals.

Mexico is easily accessible from the U.S. and serves as a strategic destination for persons looking for Latin American bitcoin and banking partners, he noted. The conference will give attendees the chance to learn about Latin America’s technology talent and its vibrant startup  ecosystem.

Diverse Viewpoints And Insights

Thought leaders have cited previous Latin American bitcoin conferences in Argentina and Brazil as some of the most valuable. This year’s speaker lineup in Mexico City will provide diverse perspectives and insights, as well as exclusive announcements.

Topics to date include: bitcoin’s positive social impact, bitcoin as an investment, bitcoin around the world, angel and venture capital perspectives, block chains for businesses (including smart contract platforms), buying and selling bitcoin in Mexico, business and merchant adoption, block chains for businesses (tools and services), mainstream adoption, Latin American startups, Latin America call to action, development and technical update, new features (IoT, side chains, Lightning Network, hedging, multisig), money transmission and remittances, security and scalability, regulation and compliance, Mexican opportunities and challenges, and tips for startups.

International Bitcoin Experts To Speak

Confirmed speakers to date include: Andreas Antonopoulos, Trace Mayer and Erik Voorhees, as well as leading Latin American entrepreneurs like Diego Gutierrez Zaldivar, CEO of Koibanx and Rootstock, and Pablo Gonzalez, CEO of Bitso.

The conference website allows viewers to place bids for an auction for the first and only bitcoin comic book signed by more than 80 bitcoin and crypto pioneers worldwide.

Early registration is $150 USD and $185 USD onsite. Bitcoin and credit cards are accepted.

The first IaBIT conference was held in Buenos Aires in 2013, followed by one in Rio de Janeiro in 2014. The conferences drew positive feedback from the 40-plus speakers, 250 attendees and local media.
