LOT Polish Airlines will now be accepting Bitcoin along with normal payment options. The decision comes with a fair bit of enthusiasm toward the digital currency, as expressed in their press release :

Payment with Bitcoins is easy in execution, and equally secure as other payment methods. All transactions are handled by PSP – one of the most reputable and popular platforms handling payments with the online currency.

US customers have long had an option for paying for flights with Bitcoin in CheapAir.com, a travel agency that has been booking flights since before the Internet was widely popular. While it is great that there are airlines such as LOT and others to follow in Europe and Mexico who are accepting Bitcoin, ultimately the important thing is that the user can buy a ticket with bitcoins. Whether or not the company accepts bitcoins may not ultimately matter to the Bitcoiner.

The company says that it supports Bitcoin for any online transaction.

The new payment method is addressed to everybody who has a Bitcoin wallet, and is an active user of this currency when doing the shopping online. Bitcoins can be used to pay for any LOT flight on the majority of the markets where the airline sells tickets.
